First results are in--Adapter for Pentax K-mount lenses on EOS bodies (digital or film)--works great!!
$14..99 (free shipping) Pentax-PK-Canon-EOS-Mount-Adapter. For 15 bucks you can add the universe of Pentax K-mount lenses to your Canon! Ask around, you probably have a friend or relative who has a K-mount lens to try this out. If you can't beg, borrow or steal one, I have a few for sale (see below).
The following two were taken with the classic SMC Pentax-M 50mm f1/7 (hand-held).
The third photo was taken using Pentax-M 40mm f2.8 on a Canon Rebel XT (350D). Manual mode & manual focus (of course). Just use the camera's meter to select an appropriate aperture & shutter speed. Since f2.8 is not very fast, I had to open up the lens and shoot with relatively slow shutter speeds. However, I got some good portraits.
See this post for list of Pentax lenses
Because EF-mount lenses work on Canon DSLRs, lenses other than the kit lenses are not sitting around going unused.
